I've been thinking of making a partition for a linux just for ET.
Couple of questions I have for thee! (that rhymes and I was almost tempted to try make the entire post rhyme lol)
Where can i get the one you spoke of?
Can you post a link if it is free to download and use please?
How much space on your HD does it take up? My main HD is only summat daft like 70GB and I'm using vista and that eats space as it is. (yes I know 70GB is lame but i got it when the 10000rpms came out thinking it was a good idea )
I don't know diddly squat about linux so if and of your answers are of promise it could be good cos my vista runs ET like dog poo my frames jump from around too much.
Thanks in advance

i've tried e.t. on ubuntu too but i didn't see any major increase in frame-rate - it was roughly the same. perhaps your windows install was cluttered, cat. tbh i found hit detection to be very bad on ubuntu and the fact that i had to read up on nearly everything i wanted to do (even the simplest tasks) made me switch back to windows. can't be bothered to relearn everything
btw what's your pc's spec, cat?

Damnit Cat where were you two weeks ago when I had similar problems sorting out ET on Ubuntu?
All sorted now (using the same fixes as you posted) and have my iMac triple booting OS X, Ubuntu and Windows. And I have noticed ET runs faster for me in Ubuntu. Apparently its down to OpenGL > DirectX

Cheers Cat i'll have a gander for that. All your script jargon... seems hard brain work.

rm -fr .etwolf
better do:
rm -fr .etwolf/pb
since the first command would remove all your pk3s and etkey and stuff
