Dear [fP] what about including 'supply depot' map to the list on the public server?

This is an evergreen question that pops up every now and then. DC2 is an ORIGINAL MAPS only server. So no, we will not be putting any non-original maps into the rotation.

Whilst I fully understand that demo2 is a standard map rotation server, the other server is always empty.
Running different rotations once a week or one week in a month would be a nice change to include well known custom maps such as supply, braundorf, aldernest, frostbite etc.

Ok, first of all, lets hope that we can down the line reconfigure the other server, and bring players to it.
Second, in ET there are 3 types of maps: Small, Medium and Huge. Each category is supposed to be used according to the number of players on the server. As such, implementing those maps on demo2, its just unthinkable. Those are small maps, made for a small amount of players. Depot can withstand at tops 24 players, and even so, it becomes croweded. B4, aldernest etc are scrim maps for a reason. They're good, small maps, that can be competitive with a handfull of players. Likewise, huge maps, wouldn't work well either, for the opposite reason, to big for the amount of players (like Tram, all of LoTR maps etc)
Demo2 is a Medium/Large capacity server. If things would change (which i don't believe they will) and other maps were to be put on (even if it was only one map per campaign) it would have to be biggers maps, like Venice, Caen etc.

I understand the unwillingness to tamper with a winning formula (std maps + etpro) which over the years has guaranteed almost every night till at least till midnight a full (or nearly) full server. BUT I suspect that while we obviously do love the standard maps, maybe swap one of the repeated maps once a month or so on a trail basis with a custom map thats suited to 32 players. Market Garden springs to mind as maybe a good replacement for the second fuel dump as while I personally rate dump as one if not my favourite maps, it is one map where often when it loads player numbers decrease almost to the point of there being no one to snipe at times So how about on a trail basis replace the second fuel dump (map 10 or 10 iirc) with MG and see if at map 10 instead of numbers decreasing we actively get more players staying on for that final (depending on time of the night) bit of something different?

I've been there and I did have the t-shirt but it's now vapourised from the many washes....we have tried numerous beyond mention times to add a 'custom' map and each time = empty server regardless of the speed of download (which we have pretty quick btw). I'm all for suggestions on improvements and welcome them but this one is a no go'er

Maybe we should work on trying to get the custom map server populated, I'm up for setting a time and date for a few of us to join up in the hope other people will see the server on the main server list and join.

Do we really want to spread Demo 2 players over two servers when numbers seem to be dwindling?
Having mentioned that... I recall many years ago being on a server that allowed players to vote for the next map - perhaps something like this could be introduced on the custom server...

Thats a great idea Araknid I guess most of the time it won't pass (at first) and the rotation should just continue the usual 8/10 std maps.

Good idea Ewan but sorry to sarcastically add "In a perfect world". Those days that you are mentioning are mostly long gone. On eft// we also had quite successful events following the same concept Members vs. Regulars. But we had a shitload of members. Fact is, we only have 4 - 5 more or less active members currently in the clan, so gathering what would be [fP] part of the BoM idea, would fail miserably, unless you and some others finally decide to join our ranks Merch, Maestro, Rooster and me is the current "active" roster of the clan. So that's 4 I think it's a great idea, don't get me wrong, just really down to like 5% of making it happen. If I can be of any help in organizing the thing, let me know I will gladly help

Hello chaps, thought I'd just add my two pence worth. I'd be up for playing in this if you need anyone and it gets taken any further of course. Oh and as most of you are aware no doubt I'm just Lemons with a different nick as I had to reinstall on a new comp and lost my old .cfg..... well done by myself if I do say so.

How about a Sunday evening at 7pm? Do Sundays suit people here and if so we can arrange a date. I do believe we will get a few randoms connecting from the main server list.
