Well personally i have a bit problem with my fps rate (won't mention ping rate because of legendary polish connection). I set max fps to 90 in order to avoid any kind of fps drops and with hope to enjoy smooth game. But very often my fps goes crazy , while airstrike rate goes even below 30 . However on other server (EtPub mod don't know if it's vital info) I easily get steady 90 even reaching 125 with small drops (110-125). I own ATI Radeon HD 4670 (512mb) Core Duo 2.2 GHz 4 Gb ram memory. I quess on that configuration i should get 90 . Did update drivers tried to start Et using one core but there was no effect. Of course while playing i turn off any other memory consumig programms. Any ideas, solutions ?

Tried your sound drivers? They can can cause all kinds of rubbish. Airstrikes are loud too.

Especially on radar and railgun fps drops are noticeable on many users. I wonder if there is a console command to disable weather effects. I know it can be done in CS, wonder if it is possible in ET ?

Same here, although lately i am noticing some fluctuating of the fps, ranging from bout 52 - 76. Happens every now, every 5 - 10 mins i'd say and lasts for about 30 secs or so.
Any ideas what could be causing this? I started getting these, and updated my graphics drivers and it was better for a while, but it soon got back and is here to annoy me.
Any suggestions more then welcome

I thought every 5-10 minutes is about when PB takes a random screen-shot (or used to), Over at Jolt with our RTCW players there was a huge level of complaint when EB introduced PBSS - a lot of people complained like mad about 'PB Lag'. Only anecdotal evidence, I know, but it would seem to fit. I don't think I seem to have that issue - my aim is universally bad FPS is 'locked' at 90 and that seems to work for me. Out of curiosity, what hardware are you running ET on?

i7 920 @ 2.67GHz, 12 GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series (and yes i know ATI sucks ass, but it sucked ass before, when i had absolutely NO FPS drops), the drops happened before i update the usually crappy ATI drivers and after updating them...
Win 7 64bit

Hmmm... curious - I'm still at stock config for the most part.
Dropped / locked my FPS to 90 (nice even multiple of 1.5x screen refresh of 60Hz) Set cl_maxpackets to 90 as well - I read somewhere that it should ideally match or be a multiple / divisor of your fps if possible (although you should set it according to your connection speed) Switched off atmospheric effects too
FPS rock solid @ 90.
Running all this on a C2D E8500 (3.16 GHz), 8GB RAM and an ATi Radeon HD 3870 (512MB)
Run at 1280 x 1024 resolution (ET - screen is running at 1920x1080)
And yeah, ATi drivers are cr*p, utter bull-cr*p in fact. So poor in fact I resorted to using the default MS/Windows drivers for my card and although performance suffers in other high-end 3D apps that strain the card ET is happy (apart from the occasional crash).
